Solitaire announces results of Pickle Lake drilling

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

May 11, 2004: Solitaire Minerals Corp. (the Company) has received the results of the recently completed diamond drilling program on the Golden Pickle property, located at Pickle Lake, Ontario.

The drill program was originally planned to encompass a total of 6 holes, but due to terrain conditions, the program was reduced to a 4 hole (646 metre) diamond drill program. The four holes were spotted to test geological structures interpreted in a recent compilation. The holes failed to intersect significant gold values. The targeted structures and geological ideas were confirmed with the drilling and have been used to help interpret the potential of gold bearing structures on other parts of the property. The continued exploration of the property will comprise prospecting, stripping, sampling and additional diamond drilling. The company plans to recommence exploration in early June.

In other news, planning continues for the next phase of exploration to begin on the Baird Property, located at Red Lake, Ontario. Discussions continue with the Optionee, United Bolero, (who hold an option to earn up to a 50% interest in the Baird claims) as to the specific nature of the next phase of exploration. It is anticipated that a further announcement will be forthcoming on this shortly.
