Solitaire completes Airborne Survey, Gravity Survey in Progress on Chikuni River

February 10, 2004: Solitaire Minerals Corp. (the Company) is pleased to announce the following updates:

Baird Property: The first portion of the work program on the Companies 100% owned Baird property, entailing line-cutting, has been completed, and a further work program of ground based geophysics will be commencing shortly. United Bolero Technologies has the option to earn up to a 50% interest in the Baird Property by making payments of cash and shares to Solitaire, and performing a minimum of $500,000 in exploration expenditures on the property over the next three years.

The Baird Property is comprised of 430 hectares located immediately south of, and adjoining the 4,000 hectare Claude Resources "Madsen" Property, which is currently the subject of a joint venture agreement with Placer Dome Canada, and is undergoing an extensive exploration program, including drilling immediately north of Solitaires' Baird property boundary.

Chikuni River Property: The initial portion of the exploration program on the Companies 100% owned Chikuni property has been completed, and exploration activity continues. Results of the airborne geophysical survey completed by TERRAQUEST LTD. of Toronto, Ontario, are currently being interpreted by Mr. Roger Watson, P.Eng, the Consulting Geophysicist. In addition, work continues at present on the ground based gravity survey, being performed on the claims by Al Spector, Ph.D., of Allan Spector & Associates Ltd, of Toronto, Ontario. This phase of the exploration activity is anticipated to be completed within the next two weeks.

The Chukuni River Claims refer to claim units totaling 2000 acres in Byshe Township in the prolific Red Lake Mining District. Two of the claims are contiguous with Goldcorp's (TSX:G, NYSE:GG) Red Lake Mine claim group. Goldcorp has announced and commenced construction of a new shaft (Shaft #3) to a depth of 7150 feet with a total hoisting capacity of 4000 tons per day, to be located south of their existing shafts, and approximately 2,000 meters north of the Chikuni Property.

In addition, the Company wishes to announce the granting, subject to all necessary regulatory and shareholder approvals, of Director/Officer/Consultant/Employee incentive stock options of the Company to purchase in the aggregate 230,000 common shares in the capital stock of the Company. The options are exercisable on or before February 10, 2006 at a price of $0.11 per common share.
