May 6, 2003 - Solitaire Minerals Corp. (TSX.V – SLT) wishes to announce that it is proceeding with plans to follow up on geological recommendations with respect to the properties in which the Company has an option to earn a 100% interest. These properties include the following:

Chukuni River Property: The Chukuni River claims comprise 1500 acres located approximately 3 ½ kilometers immediately south of Goldcorp Inc.’s new Shaft #3, and bordering upon the Goldcorp Inc. Red Lake mine property. On February 25th, 2003, the Company signed a letter of intent with Horizon Gold Corp., whereby Horizon may earn up to a 50% interest in the property from Solitaire. To date, Horizon has not completed their financing arrangements with respect to the Chikuni River Property, therefore a formalized option agreement between the companies has not been completed. Add geological or previous exploration history.

Baird Property: The Baird claims comprise approximately 1250 acres in the Baird Township, 8 kilometers southwest of the town of Red Lake. The property adjoins the Starratt-Olsen and Madsen mine properties of Claude Resources / Placer Dome.

Golden Pickle Property: The Golden Pickle claims comprise 1960 acres in Connell Township in the Patricia Mining District of Ontario. The property lies between the Pickle Crow and Central Patricia Mines, east of the town of Pickle Lake.

The Company also wishes to announce it is currently assessing its properties under option from King’s Bay Gold Corp.:

Pickle Crow Property: The agreement to earn up to a 50% interest in this property with Kings Bay Gold Corp. is being discontinued.

Headway Property: The agreement to earn up to a 50% interest in this property with Kings Bay Gold Corp. is currently under review. The Company announces that the news release issued May 6, 2003 by King’s Bay Gold Corp. which professes to limit the Company’s interest in the property is under dispute. To date, the Company has requested, yet been unable to obtain from King’s Bay, any material accounting for expenditures on the property as funded by Solitaire. Solitaire also informs its shareholders that its interest in this property will be vigorously defended.
