May 2, 2003-Solitaire Minerals (TSX.V - SLT) and partner King's Bay Gold (TSX.V - KBG) report that additional drill results that had not been sent for assay have now been received from their Oct/2002 Garnet Lake drill program. The core was logged and split, with half sent to the lab. Gold assays were completed by Fire Assay, and Copper by Atomic Absorption at Accurassay Laboratories, Thunder Bay, Ontario.

New additional BQ drill intersects are as follows:

Hole 1	3.05 g/t Au over 1.5 ft at a depth of 76 to 77.5 ft.
Hole 1	2.10 g/t over 4 ft at a depth of 81.5 to 85.5 ft.
Hole 3	2.72 g/t over 5.8 ft at a depth of 60.1 to 65.9 ft.
Hole 5	0.37 g/t over 7.5 ft at a depth of 73ft to 80.5 ft.
Hole 10	0.41 g/t over 3.5 ft at a depth of 72.5 to 76 ft.
Hole 15	7.6 g/t, 2.0% Cu over 1 ft at a depth of 179 to 180 ft.

Highlights from the Oct/2002 drill program now include:

Hole 1	3.05 g/t Au over 1.5 ft at a depth of 76 to 77.5 ft and 2.10 g/t Au over 4 ft at a depth of 81.5 to 85.5 ft.
Hole 3	2.72 g/t Au over 5.8 ft at a depth of 60.1 to 65.9 ft.
Hole 4	0.23% Cu over 18 ft at a depth of 22 to 40 ft.
Hole 5	0.37g/t Au over 7.5 ft at a depth of 73 to 80.5 ft.
Hole 8	0.21% Cu over 7 ft at a depth of 61 to 68 ft, 0.21% Cu over 7 ft at a depth of 85 to 92 ft and 1.23% Cu, 1.1 g/t Au, 6.0 g/t Ag over 4 ft at a depth of 94 to 98 ft.
Hole 9	0.39% Cu over 16 ft at a depth of 164 to 180 ft.
Hole 10	1.05% Cu, 0.52g/t Au over 1 ft at a depth of 106 to 107 ft, 1.66% Cu, 1.09 g/t Au over 1 ft at a depth of 116 to 117 ft, 1.69% Cu, 0.24 g/t Au over 1 ft at a depth of 201 to 202 ft, 2.82% Cu, 1.3 g/t Au, 15.5 g/t Ag over 2 ft at a depth of 206 to 208 ft, 1.31% Cu, 0.28 g/t Au over 1 ft at depth of 209 to 210 ft.
Hole 11	0.26% Cu, 0.37 g/t Au over 11 ft at a depth of 73 to 84, 1.50% Cu, 0.96 g/t Au over 1 ft .at a depth of 87 to 88 ft.
Hole 14	1.60% Cu, 0.59 g/t Au over 1 ft at a depth of 85 to 86 ft, 2.06% Cu, 7.66 g/t Au, 15.0 g/t Ag over 1 ft at a depth of 94 to 95 ft.
Hole 15	2.08% Cu, 7.60 g/t Au over 1 ft at a depth of 179 to 180 ft.

All mineralized intercepts were enveloped by much broader zones of lower grade. This 2000 ft long structure is open along strike and at depth. Solitaire and King's Bay are encouraged by this Phase 1 exploration program and are presently compiling data.

Headway, Red Lake

King's Bay Gold has reported to Solitaire that the line cutting on the Headway project has been completed and ground geophysics are presently underway. The Company also reports that it is moving four drills and a bulldozer to the Headway Property. Construction of a 40x20 building has also commenced on site. This building will be used for equipment storage, core splitting and core logging, etc. The Headway Project is located in Balmer and Dome Townships approximately 1200m southwest, and directly adjacent, to Goldcorp Inc.'s (TSX-G) High Grade Zone, with a total gold content of 4.6 million ounces, as a result of an increase in reserves during 2002 of 1.96 million tons with an average grade of 2.35 ounces of gold per ton. Prior exploration on the Headway Project intersected high-grade gold values, including 2.74 oz/ton gold over 2.0 ft and 0.61 oz/ton gold over 3.08 ft in drill core (H-13), surface chip samples of up to 1.35 oz/ton over 6.6 ft and several surface grab samples exceeding 1oz/ton. The property contains two east-west trending, gold bearing structural zones; the 4,000 ft x 1,000 ft Headway Shear Zone and the 2,300 ft x50 ft Main Zone. (Watkins, 1999).
