Red Lake properties
King's Bay's portfolio of properties in the Red Lake/Birch-Uchi greenstone belt include the Headway, Pickle Crow and Garnet Lake prospects where partner Solitaire Minerals Corp. has the right to earn a 50-per-cent interest upon completing payments to King's Bay totalling $1.6 million over three years. Each of these properties exhibit excellent potential for hosting high-grade gold deposits and are located within the world-class Red Lake area.
Headway group of patented claims
The Headway project consists of six patented claim units located in the "shadow" of the Red Lake headframes. The property lies about 1,200 metres southwest of Goldcorp's Red Lake HGZ (high-grade zone) and approximately one kilometre south of Placer Dome's Campbell mine.
The Placer Dome's world-class Campbell mine has past production of more than 10 million ounces of gold. Goldcorp, the other producer in the camp, has recently announced a proven and probable reserve at its high-grade zone of 3.8 million ounces grading 2.05 ounces per ton gold and a total proven and probable reserve of 4.3 million ounces grading 1.34 ounces per ton gold. Together, these two orebodies contain 23 million ounces with an average grade of 0.66 ounce per ton gold (past production and reserves).
Garnet Lake claim blocks
The Garnet Lake claim block is composed of approximately 54 units. This prospect is located but a short distance and on strike from the past producing South Bay mine, which produced 1.6 million tons at 2.3 per cent Cu and 14.7 per cent Zn.
Pickle Lake properties.
The Pickle Lake properties consist of about 75 claim units located in Connell township, Ontario. The Pickle Lake project is located directly adjacent to the Pickle Crow gold mine, which produced 1,446,000 ounces of Au per ton at an average grade of 0.47 ounce of Au per ton between 1935 and 1966.
